Haslingden Retaining Wall

Back to Projects

The four-week programme involved the demolition and construction of a failed masonry wall adjacent to the River Irwell. Ensuring client satisfaction we were able to complete the works within the constraints of the programme, working closely with the Environment Agency to ensure all Environmental issues were addressed.

The schemes involved the following work elements:

  • Set up site compound
  • Install coffer dam, pump and silt trap
  • Demolition and excavation of the existing failed mass
  • Reclamation of existing walling stone for re use
  • Batter stabilisation
  • Construction of reinforced concrete retaining wall
  • Masonry walling to retaining wall
  • Top soiling and landscaping
