Project: Lymm Sub Station


Client: Barhale Construction


The contract involved the construction of a new substation and transformer base for Scottish Power .The works consisted of providing a full construction package from inception to final handover. The sub station design was altered to accommodate the local planning regulations. This involved a pitched slate roof and brickwork facade in keeping with the local area.



The schemes involved the following work elements:


● Site set up


● Reduced dig excavation


● Construction of 300mm thick reinforced concrete raft foundation and walls


● Reinforced concrete transformer plinth and walls to watertight bund


● Power floated slab, service trenches and cable pits


● Fabrication and installation of galvanised support steelwork to 33kv cells


● Cavity wall construction


● Pre cast concrete roof slabs


● Secondary flat roof construction


● Timber roof trusses


● Traditional slate roof


● Petrol interceptor and drainage


● Internal decoration


● External works to be completed
